June 11, 2013 – Roric Paulman of Sutherland announced today that he will seek the Legislative seat for District 42, currently being held by Senator Tom Hansen of North Platte, who will be term limited at the end of 2014.
Roric Paulman and his wife, Debra have been the Owners and Operators of Paulman Farms at Sutherland since 1985. Roric was born in Sutherland, graduated from Hershey High School, and attended Kearney State College.
Roric’s professional memberships and involvement in community activities and associations have given him an understanding of the concerns of the residents in Lincoln County. Roric looks forward to upcoming opportunities to listen to voters in the district, and to share several of his priorities as well:
Water – Nebraskans must continually reassess water resources in our state; it is vital for our future moving forward.
Rural Nebraska – It is important to engage in conversations to communicate and plan for a healthy future for rural Nebraska.
Roric said, “As I discussed making the decision to run for the Nebraska Legislature with my family, I shared that I feel an obligation to return my experiences and opportunities to serve on a variety of local, state, and federal association boards and committees here at home. These opportunities have allowed me to learn, understand, and discuss issues that would allow me to be a prepared and active member of the Nebraska Legislature.”
“I hope as I visit with voters in the district they will find me approachable, know that my door will always be open, and I will be a good listener,” Roric commented.
